Personally, I still mix up right and left, and I find the words "dependent" and "independent" a little confusing. So I think "cause" the x variable and "effect" the y variable. This is not exactly right and will make some scientists apoplectic, but as a sort of memory aid, it might help you too.
Type "x" for the data that should go on the x axis, "y" for the y-axis data, and "n" if the data should NOT be used in a graph. OK, those two were easy. In both cases, the x variables temperature of tank or amount of food given are easily controlled by the experimenter. Sometimes the "x" variable can't actually be controlled but only "chosen" by researcher -- this is especially the case when some version of "time" is the x variable.
The manipulated variable will be shown on the x axis while the responding variable will be shown on the y axis. It shows changes in the response variable against changes in the explanatory or independent variable s. The Independent variable is placed on the x-axis and the dependent variable is placed on the y- axis.
Straight line. On the y-axis. A responding variable is a variable that reacts to being manipulated. A synonym for responding variable would be dependent variable. A manipulated variable is the variable that has been changed in the experiment.
A responding variable is the variable that has been kept through the whole experiment. The covered jar was the manipulated variable and the responding variable was the result: No maggots.
Another name for responding variable is dependent variable. Another term for responding variable is dependent variable. Responding variable is a dependent. Variable is a condition that can change as the result of an independent variable's alteration. The responding variable changes because of the manipulating variable and answers your hypothesis. Chemistry 28 cards. Manipulated variable is the variable the experimenter decides to change to see if there is or is not an effect. Responding variable is the variable that will change as a result of the change in the manipulated variable. It is observed and measured to determine the quantity or quality of change.
When we plot information on a graph the manipulated variable is always plotted on the X - axis and the responding variable is always plotted on the Y - axis. Independent variable is another name for manipulated variable. It is independently selected by the experimenter to be manipulated.
Dependent variable is observed by the experimenter and responds to the manipulated, or independent variable, if there is a relationship. Relationships , which can be represented in a chart or graph. Before deciding to use a chart or graph a person needs to decide if the data is continuous or categorical.
