As they waited for their order, Nikki says, Scooter popped up and started dancing to rap star Nelly's hit song "Country Grammar" that was playing on the restaurant's sound system. The crowd loved it. And that was when I realized he had a talent," Nikki says. A few months later, Nikki heard the radio advertisement for the McDonald's talent show and decided to enter her children.

Before they left to compete in New York, McDonald's held a "kickoff party" for Lashe and Jermaine at its Wise Avenue restaurant, where employees rolled out a red carpet.
