Something to do with it storing a variable in the wrong place. It actually is more of a curse than a blessing though; the stats you get leveling up that way are significantly lower than what you'd get if you'd leveled up naturally, so if you want to make your hero stronger you better like seed farming. Generally, against Divinegon, Thordain is the best attack, followed by Blazemost, followed by a strong normal attack. Before you fight Divinegon you can copy your file then go fight him and wish for the medals, delete the save, copy the old one, and do it again. Since the medals aren't tied to a particular save you can keep getting the medals without having to beat Divinegon in less turns. Well, there are no medals to collect so Divinegon doesn't grant any "medal wishes". He still has three levels of wishes though, for which you are required to beat him in progressively fewer and fewer turns. I could've sworn that I beat him, reloaded the save file, then beat him again and received the same medals.
